This week we will explore Gratitude in the Grind. There are things that we do every day that cause us to be exhausted, anxious, and weary. The daily tasks of life take a toll on you spiritually, emotionally and physically. The grind of being a parent, spouse, employee, employer, caregiver, student. The grind of just getting through another day can deplete our ability to express gratitude. However, when we serve God with our whole heart and follow his plan for our life we can grow and learn to have Gratitude in the Grind.

God has called us to be disciples who make disciples. Our relationship with Jesus should always be growing—and as we grow, we’re called to share that growth with others so they, too, can grow in their faith. When we live with a heart of gratitude, we are naturally compelled to share what God has taught us and to help others become disciples of Jesus. Jesus commands His followers to “go into all the world.” One way we live out that calling is through global missions. Today, we’re excited to interview Brent and Sara Kelderman, who are answering that call by heading to Trinidad & Tobago to make disciples who will make disciples.

This week starts a new sermon series! We will explore what it looks like to live our everyday life with a heart of gratitude. Gratitude comes from the posture of our heart. Is your heart full of the things of God or do you leave room for other things. When we give thanks to God for who he is, when we love and serve him with all our heart there is no room for anything else. There is no room for fear, worry, hate, or bitterness. A growing relationship with Jesus will fill your heart with praise and gratitude that will overflow through your mouth and actions.

When you choose to walk with God and be connected to His church, you gain the strength and stability that comes from standing together as one body in Christ.

Pastor Steve teaches on “The Power of We: The Unity and Diversity of the Body.” The body is the perfect analogy for how the church is meant to function: many people with different gifts and talents, united by the power of the Holy Spirit, becoming one body that demonstrates the love of Jesus to the world.

On this Culture Sunday we start the theme “The Power of We” as we explore how the power of the Holy Spirit working in our life will build a community that is united no matter the background that you came from or the language that you speak the Holy Spirit brings us together to form one church, one body.
