This week we continue our series Freedom in This House, with the title Freedom to be Fully Loved. Understanding that Jesus loves you is what draws you to desire a relationship with him. However, we often think his love is like the love we receive from others. So, we believe the lie that says “God loves you, but He’s disappointed in you because you keep messing up”. The truth is that God loves you and he delights in you. Freedom to be fully loved means that we don’t just believe God loves us, we live like it.

As humans we are good at hiding the things that we don’t want others to know about. We fear that people will find out what we have done or are doing in the dark and they will not accept us. We even think that we can hide them from God. However, there is freedom when we bring those things into the light. When we stop hiding and let His light heal our past, heal our addictions and heal our failures, we can then restore our fellowship with him and others. We experience freedom in the church and as individuals when we become fully known by walking in the light of His love.

 

This week we continue our series Fear Not and look at Fear from Loss of Control. Fear lies and tells us that we must control every aspect of our lives. If we just try harder, do more or have more faith we won’t be going through what we are going through. Fear will stop us from doing what God has called us to do because we fear the unknown, we can’t move until we know how it ends. Jesus says “come”, He says “follow me”. Is that enough or does fear from loss of control keep you from all that God has for you.

Who told you that obedience would cost you everything? Today we continue our series called No Fear. We have talked about how fear comes from immaturity in our lives, it is a phase that we must grow out of. We talked about fear from people in our lives. People who we seek affirmation and approval from. We want to belong, so we go along, even if it is contrary to God’s word. The fear of people often matures into fear of God’s will. It is not immaturity, but it is hesitation after hearing God clearly. Today we look at how we can overcome the lies that bring us Fear from Calling and Obedience.

 

Who told you their approval matters more than God’s? We desire to be liked, we want to be applauded, we value the approval of others, however, the importance of these things in our lives will allow room for fear to grow when they become more important than God’s desire for our lives. No Fear happens when God’s voice is stronger and louder than the approval we seek from others.
